The Towson University swimming & diving programs collected three Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) weekly awards, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. Junior
Brian Benzing picked up his second CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week award in consecutive weeks,
Katie Nunez was named the CAA Co-Women's Swimmer of the Week and Shannon Parrau collected the CAA Women's Diver of the Week.
It is the women's program's first weekly swimming award winner since
Meagan Clark was honored on Feb. 1 last season. The last Tiger to win the Women's Diver of the Week award was
Alyssa Largay on Oct. 19 of last year. Benzing has collected two weekly awards so far this season.
Benzing repeats as Swimmer of the Week following an impressive effort at the Thomas Murphy Invite. He won the 100 fly with a time of 47.61, which is the fastest in the CAA and 35th nationally this season. He also placed second in the 50 free with a time of 20.45 and was part of Towson's winning 800 free relay squad. Capping his weekend, Benzing was a member of second-place teams in the 400 free relay, 400 medley relay and 200 medley relay. All four relay times are tops in the conference this season.
Nunez captured three individual event wins and added a first-place finish and two second-place efforts in relays for Towson at the Thomas Murphy Invite. The senior turned in a winning time of 23.38 in the 50 free, which was .04 off a pool record, claimed the 100 free in a time of 50.99, and took the 100 breast in a time of 1:03.90, which is the fastest in the CAA this season. Nunez was also part of the Tigers' first-place 400 medley relay and second-place squads in the 400 free relay and 800 free relay.
Parrau swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions at the Thomas Murphy Invite last weekend. The freshman posted a winning score of 254.25 on the 1-meter board and claimed first place on the 3-meter board with a score of 252.60. Parrau has taken first place in all six diving events this season.

The Towson men's and women's swimming & diving programs will return home this Saturday, Nov. 5, to host local foe UMBC at Burdick Pool. Diving is set to start at 11 a.m. Swimming will follow at 1 p.m.
