TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team started the
Laura Harper era with an 83-72 win over Longwood at SECU Arena Saturday night.
Kylie Kornegay-Lucas flirted with a triple-double, totaling 29 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, five blocks and three steals.
Quinzia Fulmore earned her first career double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds, while
Anissa Rivera earned her fifth double-double at Towson with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Towson (1-0) scored 44 points in the paint and had 45 rebounds.

- Towson dominated the glass, outrebounding the Lancers 45-28.
- The Tigers totaled 19 assists on 31 baskets.
- India Johnston made her Towson debut and scored 13 points.

How It Happened vs Longwood:
- Longwood gained an early 5-3 lead, but the Tigers went on a 14-2 run with Kylie Kornegay-Lucas scoring eight points to have a 17-7 lead.
- The Lancers were able to cut the lead down to two multiple times, but Towson finished the first quarter on a 7-0 run with Skye Williams scoring a layup with two seconds remaining.
- Towson scored the first five points to extend the lead to 14.
- The teams went back and forth, then Longwood went on a 9-1 run to bring their deficit to four.
- Towson would take a 42-36 lead into the locker room after Taiye Johnson scored a layup before the buzzer.
- The Tigers opened the third quarter with a 9-2 run to stretch the lead to 13.
- The teams traded baskets through the third quarter with Quinzia Fulmore scoring a putback as time expired to give the Tigers a 63-50 lead.
- The Lancers reduced the lead to nine after consecutive buckets to force a timeout by Towson.
- The Tigers came out of the timeout with a 10-3 run to have a 16-point lead, their largest lead of the night.
- Longwood responded with a 7-0 run to bring the lead back to nine.
- Longwood hit a three with 29 seconds left to cut into the Tiger lead.
