GREENSBORO, N.C. – Towson men's basketball needed a second half rally, but the Tigers took down UNCG 56-53 on Thursday night.
Nicolas Timberlake netted 26 points including his 1,000 career point in the second half.
Towson (4-0) is off to their first 4-0 start in program history in the Division I era. Timberlake scored 24 of his 26 points in the second half to lead the Tigers past UNCG (1-2).

th win at Towson last time out.

How It Happened:
- Towson came out early with a lead thanks to a Cam Holden tough and one in the lane.
- Both teams with trade buckets from there with neither team leading by more than three at any point to the under 16 timeout.
- The Tigers would go scoreless over the next four minutes that sparked a UNCG run.
- Sekou Sylla then got hot, scoring seven straight for the Tigers to bring the deficit to six.
- However, the Spartans would end the half with a 33-20 lead as the Tigers shot just 26 percent from the floor in the opening half.
- The Tigers would open the second half with a flurry, ripping off a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to single digits.
- Nicolas Timberlake would score five straight to cut into the deficit even further to six points.
- Towson would put together another mini 6-0 run to cut it to 45-42 at the under eight timeout.
- Towson opens the second half on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to single digits as they continued to chip away.
- The Tigers would take the lead after Nicolas Timberlake drilled a three off a Nygal Russell offensive rebound, part of an 11-0 run.
- The Tigers would take the lead for good on a Timberlake pull up jumper to make it 51-50. He would then drill a three to put Towson up four.
- Towson would lead by three with 20 seconds to go, but the last chance attempt for the Spartans was off the mark to give Towson a 56-53 win, and their first 4-0 start in Division I history.
