TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's swimming & diving team stands atop the leaderboard with 592 points following day two of the Patriot Invitational Friday night in Fairfax, Virginia. Florida Atlantic (586) and George Mason (582) trail in second and third. Richmond (346), American (264) and Marist (111) round out the top six. UNCW only competed in diving and finished the day with 52 points.
The Tigers' men's team finished with 666 points, good for second place through Friday's finals. Florida Atlantic leads with 743 points. George Mason (471.50), American (255.50), Marist (250) and UNCW (43) round out the leaderboard.

How it happened:
On the women's side

The Tigers' relay team of Ally Frame, Tiffany Matulis, Hailey Ritter and Maddie Mince finished the 200 medley in second place at 1:41.79.

Maddie Frick (4:26.76) and Britney Denny (4:31.44) placed second and third in the 400 IM. Laura Gaffney (4:37.41) finished eighth in the A final and Samantha Casolo (4:35.33) scored in the B final for Towson.

Mince (4th, 55.14), Ritter (5th, 55.89) and Casolo (7th, 56.02) each placed in the 100 fly final.

Ava Enriquez (1:51.40) and Bridget Thomas (1:53.32) finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 200 free.

Matulis (1:02.65) finished third in the 100 breast with the fifth-fastest time in program history. Katie Nunez (1:03.98) and Shay Walker (1:04.12) also finished in the A final.

Frame's 54.99 in the 100 back placed second in the meet and stands sixth all-time in Towson history.

Nunez, Victoria Dichak, Thomas and Enriquez finished fifth in the 800 free relay at 7:40.14 to end day two.

In the 3-meter dive, Shannon Parrau placed eighth with a score of 216.45.
On the Men's side

The men's 200 medley relay team of Evan Bota, Brian Benzing, Noah Diacumakos and Michael Fazio opened the finals by setting a meet record with a time of 1:27.79.

Patrick Flint finished third in the 400 IM with a time of 3:57.43, good for fifth in program history. David Walton (3:59.44), Ryan Bookstein (4:01.86) and Diacumakos (4:05.79) scored in the A final of the 400 IM.

Benzing placed first in the 100 fly with a time of 47.14, which is the second-fastest time in program history.

Fazio (5th, 1:41.67), Trey Adkins (6th, 1:42.37) and Brendan Farrar (8th, 1:42.98) placed in the A final of the 200 free.

Benzing finished first in the 100 breast at 52.37, the second-fastest time in program history and the ninth-fastest in Division I this season. Flint placed third (55.20) with the fourth-fastest time in Towson history.

Bota (4th, 49.69) and Reed Sells (5th, 49.70) placed in the A final of the 100 back.

The 800 free relay team of Walton, Adkins, Farrar and Flint clocked in fourth at 6:49.46.

Ajani Dorner placed second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 270.25. Aidan Clark finished third with 240.40.
