TOWSON, Md. – Towson University swimmer
Brian Benzing placed 34
th in the preliminary heats of the 50-meter freestyle at the Toyota U.S. Open Thursday morning with a time of 23.38. That time is a long course personal-best for Benzing, beating his previous best of 24.56 at the Swim Cup Amsterdam on Dec. 15, 2019.
Michael Fazio clocked in at 23.47, good for 39
th in the event. Neither swimmer advanced to tonight's finals session where the top 24 times are taken in each event.
Benzing will race again tomorrow in the 100-meter butterfly and 100-meter breaststroke. The order of events for Friday and Saturday are listed below.
