CHICAGO, Ill. – Towson men's basketball fell, 83-66 against Northern Iowa on Saturday in the Legends of Basketball Showcase in Chicago. The Tigers lead at halftime but were outscored 52-33 in the second half.
Towson (8-4) had all five starters hit double figures against UNI (4-7) led by
Cam Holden with 15 points and eight rebounds.

- After the under 16 media timeout both teams struggled from the floor.
- Towson forced four straight Panther turnovers and took a 9-6 lead off a Charles Thompson layup.
- The Tiger defense continued to force UNI to turn the ball over, holding the Panthers scoreless for nearly three minutes to take a 19-12 lead.
- UNI put together a run to cut the lead to one, but a Cam Holden put back pushed the lead back to three.
- The Tigers would take a 33-31 lead at the break behind 11 points from Charles Thompson.
- Towson outrebounded UNI 20-12 in the first half.
- Nygal Russell came out of the break and hit a pair of triples to put Towson in front by five.
- UNI would respond with an 8-0 run to take a 42-39 lead at the under 16 timeout. Nicolas Timberlake ended the run with a mid-range jumper.
- Both teams exchanged runs with the lead over the next four minutes with UNI taking a 49-46 lead at the under 12 timeout.
- That would extend to a 12-1 run to make it a nine-point deficit before Nicolas Timberlake ended the run with a three.
- Towson would continue to fight. Trailing by 12, Ryan Conway nailed a three and Cam Holden finished off a steal to cut it to seven with four minutes to go.
- However, the Panthers would hold Towson late as the Tigers fell 83-66 on Saturday.
