Young Added to Swimming & Diving Staff

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University swimming & diving team has added volunteer assistant Colleen Young to the coaching staff, head coach Anthony Bruno announced Monday afternoon.

"I am thrilled to be working with Colleen again. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Colleen will be training for her potential fourth Paralympic games in 2024. Colleen's experience as a student-athlete and member of Team USA will bring a lot of perspective and knowledge to our current Tigers," Coach Bruno noted.

Young joins Towson as a three-time Paralympian (London, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo) and a three-time Paralympic swimming medalist, winning two bronze medals in the 100-meter breaststroke and one silver in the 200-meter IM. She is an eleven-time World Championships medalist and was the youngest member of the 2012 Team USA Olympic and Paralympic delegation. Young is an eight-time Fairfield University record holder and a seven-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) champion in both individual events and medley relays after swimming competitively for four years at Fairfield University under current Towson head coach Anthony Bruno. She graduated from Fairfield with a communications and public relations degree and is currently pursuing an MBA in healthcare management from DeVry University.
