BLACKSBURG, Va. — Hayley Horvath of the Towson University women's track and field team will represent the program at Virginia Tech's Doc Hale Elite Meet on Saturday, Fed. 5.
Horvath will compete in the seeded section of the pole vault beginning at 11 a.m.
Last Time Out
Horvath last competed at Penn State National, Jan. 21-22. She ended in third with a height of 3.79 meters.
The senior also competed at the Bison Opener earlier in the season on Dec. 5, where she took home a first-place finish with a mark of 3.95 meters.

Horvath finished the 2021 indoor season with five top five finishes including a first place win at the Mason Winter Track Fiesta.
In the spring, Horvath become the first Tiger to qualify for the NCAA Championships in pole vault and the first student-athlete to go since 2018. She won both the CAA and ECAC pole vault title and set the school and conference record (4.27 meters). She was one of four to jump 4.27 meters at the NCAA East Prelims to advance to the NCAA Championships. The Princeton, New Jersey native won CAA Field Athlete of the Week twice and was named CAA Field Athlete of the Year.
Looking Ahead
The Tigers are back in action on Feb. 11-12 at the Rutgers Open in New York.
Tigers in the Community
For the 7th consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season. Towson ranked #1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition. Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations. The Tigers won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
