How It Happened:
- Towson got on the board first in the opening inning. Danny Becerra led off with a single to the shortstop and took third on a wild pitch. With two out, Elijah Dickerson sent a first pitch back up the middle for an RBI single to score Becerra and put Towson up 1-0.
- Leadoff singles for Hofstra put runners on the corners in the second. Santino Rosso hit a sacrifice fly for the tying run, then an RBI single by Ryan Morash gave Hofstra the lead. Next play, a throwing error allowed another run to score. Two more walks and a single pushed across two more as Hofstra led 5-1.
- Max Simpson came out of the bullpen and held down Hofstra through the third and fourth. In the bottom of the fourth, Dickerson hit a solo home run over the left-center wall to make it 5-2 Towson.
- The next inning, Burke Camper led off with a walk. Jake Lysaght drew a ball then hammered the next pitch to the right-center gap for an RBI double, sending Camper home. Towson got another runner on via walk but did not score again in the inning as Hofstra held a 5-3 advantage.
- Hofstra got a run back in the sixth, taking advantage of an error on a fielder's choice to bring in a runner. Dickerson wasted no time in the bottom half of the frame, taking the first pitch over the right field wall for his second home run of the day.
- The visitors again got a run back in the next half-inning. With the bases full, an Anthony D'Onofrio sacrifice fly brought in a run. The following inning, Steve Harrington hit a solo home run to right to push Hofstra's lead to 8-4.
Inside the Numbers:

- Jack McLaughlin's six-game hitting streak was snapped today. Danny Becerra continued his bases reached streak, having gotten on base his last 14 games with a first inning leadoff single.
