SPARKS, Md. – Former Towson University All-American men's lacrosse student-athlete Zach Goodrich has been named among 67 players for the upcoming USA men's tryouts. Team USA head coach John Danowski and USA Lacrosse announced the tryout members on Monday afternoon.
The first-ever three-time captain for the Towson University men's lacrosse program, and a three-time All-American, Goodrich has international experience, playing with Team USA in 2022 for World Sixes, a new format for international lacrosse.

Danowski and his staff will welcome 67 of the nation's top men's lacrosse players to USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md., for the opening round of the tryout process this week from Tuesday through Thursday.
Following the tryout, an initial training roster of approximately 46 players will be named to participant in upcoming team activities this fall.
The 2023 World Lacrosse Men's Championship will be held from June 21 through July 1, 2023 in San Diego on the campuses of San Diego State University and the University of San Diego. A total of 30 nations are expected to compete as the U.S. looks to win its record 11th championship since the event was first held in 1967. Canada is the only other country to have won the quadrennial event, winning in 1978, 2006 and 2014. No team has repeated as champion since the U.S. won six straight championships from 1982 through 2002.
Goodrich's Career
A 2019 Towson graduate and USILA Lt. J.G. Donald MacLaughlin Jr. Award winner as the nation's top defensive midfielder in his senior season, Goodrich currently plays for Cannons LC in the Premier Lacrosse League. A Major Lacrosse League (MLL) champion in the league's final season, Goodrich is regarded as one of the top defensive midfielders in professional lacrosse, now four seasons into his professional career.
In the professional ranks, all with some form of the Cannons organization, which was absorbed by the PLL after the 2020 season, Goodrich has 30 career games played, caused 29 turnovers in that stretch. He has collected 52 ground balls alongside six goals and three assists. Most impressively, Goodrich has served just four and a half minutes in penalties.
During his time with the Black & Gold, Goodrich played in all 67 games of his career. The Stevensville, Maryland product buried 16 goals with three assists for 19 career points, including seven goals in his sophomore campaign en route to NCAA Division I Championship Week. His 65 career caused turnovers still rank tied for fourth all-time in program history while snagging 152 career ground balls, aiding on the faceoff wing.
Over the course of his collegiate career, Goodrich helped lead Towson to three Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championships (2016, 2017, 2019), three NCAA Tournament wins and a berth in the 2017 NCAA Division I semifinals.
