Köping, Sweden – Towson University graduate
Juwan Gray is ready for the professional ranks, signing his first pro contract with the Köping Stars in Sweden for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
Gray played three years for Towson after transferring in from San Diego, serving in the Tiger frontcourt. The former team captain finished his collegiate career with 811 points, shooting 45% from the field and 526 rebounds. The Dover, Delaware native helped Towson win a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) regular season title this past year and was a multiple honoree on the CAA Commissioner's All-Academic Team.
The Köping Stars play in the Svenska Basketligan, the highest basketball league in Sweden. The league has nine teams throughout the country. The Köping Stars play in Köping, Sweden, about 90 miles from the capital of Stockholm. Towson has had several players play professionally in Sweden over the years.
The Stars announced Gray's signing on their website, describing Gray as a defensive rock. He can play at multiple positions and will be a multi-faceted player for the team.
