Tiger Title IX Anniversary Team – Fourth Round

TOWSON, Md. – We continue our announcement of the Tiger Title IX 50th Anniversary Team.  Every Thursday beginning on June 9th, Towson Athletics will release five student-athletes and one staff member for the next 10 weeks, with the total team being complete on Aug. 11th.
 
Jen Weaver SteczakJen Weaver Steczak '96 (Softball) – Jen is the all-time leader in batting average for Towson softball at .411, leading the Tigers in batting average three seasons, including hitting .514 in 1996, which still stands as a North Atlantic Conference* (NAC single season record. The 1996 NAC Player and Scholar-Athlete of the Year was a three-time all-league selection, once in the AE and twice in the Big South, plus won 27 games with a 2.24 ERA as a pitcher.  She earned three-time CoSIDA Academic All-America® recognition, including First Team as a junior and senior.
 








Erin Stanley CherneskiErin Shanley Cherneski '97 (Gymnastics) – Erin was the first-ever Towson gymnast to be a DI All-American, being second team on uneven bars in 1997, currently standing second all-time in program history with 1,886.900 career points.  Her senior season, she was a stellar five-time All- East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) honoree, including four on the First Team in the all-around, vault, floor exercise and uneven bars, being second team on the balance beam.  She was part of a Towson team which made the NCAA Southeast Regional all four years.
 









Lisa McCullen McPheeLisa McCullen McPhee '97 (Field Hockey) – Lisa graduated as the all-time Towson field hockey leader in goals with 26 and points with 60, including 16 goals as a senior, second all-time in Tiger single season history.  The two-time First Team All-NAC selection also had a trio of 3+ goal games, including a four-goal contest in 1996.  She was the first-ever Towson player to be named First Team Mid-Atlantic All-Regional First Team in 1996.
 












Tina SteckTina Steck '01 (Soccer) – Tina is Towson's all-time leader in goalkeeper minutes with 6,851 and shutouts with 28, earning a 1.16 goals allowed average with a .841 save percentage as the four-year starting keeper.  The 2000 First Team All-North Atlantic Conference (NAC) honoree helped Towson to 42 victories and the 1997 league title game to be named to the NAC All-Tournament Team.  She later served as a Towson assistant coach, earning a 5-2-1 record as an interim head coach in 2006.
 










Kristin Presuitti CallihanKristen Presutti Callihan '03 (Gymnastics) – The 2002 and 2003 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Year, Kristen set program records on the vault and floor exercise, earning All-EAGL First Team three times in each the all-around, vault and floor exercise.  She owns two of the program's perfect-10 scores and graduated third all-time in all-time points with 1,787.400.  Kristen was also strong in the classroom, being a three-time member of the EAGL All-Academic Team and a 2003 NACGCW Scholastic All-American.
 










Nance ReedNance Reed (Administrator, Coach) – Nance was Towson's first-ever female athletics administrator, helping with the department's move from the AIAW to NCAA and the elevation to Division I.  She was a Towson administrator from 1986-2013 and the program's field hockey coach for four years.  As an administrator, she served on the NCAA Field Hockey Committee and NCAA Championship/Game Management Cabinet, also earning NACWAA I-AA Administrator of the Year.
