Towson Women’s Basketball Adds Georgia Transfer Sendar

TOWSON, Md. – Former University of Georgia guard Alina Sendar will join the Towson University women's basketball team for the 2022-23 campaign.

The six-foot guard from Amsterdam, Netherlands played eight games for the Bulldogs last season, a team that won 21 games and advanced to the second round of NCAA Tournament. She knocked down a three-pointer in her collegiate debut versus Gardner-Webb. She will have three years of eligibility.

An All-Star in the European Youth Basketball League (EYBL), Sendar represented her country at the FIBA European Championships in 2018, 2019 and 2022.

"Alina has a wealth of international experience and played last year in the SEC," said Towson head coach Laura Harper. "We are really excited to bring that competitive edge to Towson. She can shoot it well from deep; We need that, that is an area of growth for us. She is ready to come in and step in however and wherever we need her to do."

Sednar is fourth transfer landed by Harper, joining Taiye Johnson (Radford), Alexia Nelson (UMBC) and Patricia Anumgba (CCBC Essex).

The 2021-22 Tigers set the program record for most wins in a season (24) and earned a berth in the WNIT.
