Tiger Title IX Anniversary Team – Ninth Round

TOWSON, Md. – Continuing to announce the Tiger IX Anniversary Team in honor of the 50th anniversary of Title IX being passed, TowsonTigers.com is proud to announce the ninth round of student-athletes and administrators from women's sports over the last 50 years.

Sami Chenoweth '20 (Lacrosse) – Sami earned two All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) First Team honors as well as Second Team and All-Rookie selections. She was a three-time IWLCA Regional pick and made a pair of All-America squads, including Third Team by IWLCA/US Lacrosse in 2019. Sami holds the program record in two categories: most games (81) and caused turnovers (186) and ranks sixth in ground balls (163).

Lauren Coleman '20 (Track & Field) – Lauren was a three-time shot put champion in both the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and was named the Most Outstanding Female Field Athlete of the Meet following both championships in 2018. A two-time NCAA Woman of the Year nominee in the CAA, she holds the school record in both indoor (16.75 meters) and outdoor (16.23). She qualified for the NCAA indoor track championships in 2020, ranking No. 14 in the nation.

Olivia Conti '20 (Lacrosse) – Olivia earned Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Player of the Year honors during her freshman and sophomore seasons and was a three-time CAA First Team selection. In 2017, she earned Second Team All-America honors by IWLCA/US Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse All-American becoming the first first-year student-athlete in program history to be selected. Ranks second in in career caused turnovers (149) and is in the top 10 in ground balls (143).

Marrisa Wonders '20 (Volleyball) – Marissa was first Towson volleyball player to earn All-America honors by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) in 2019. That same season, she was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year, Setter of the Year and Most Outstanding Player in the conference tournament while leading Towson to a 29-3 record. She was just the second student-athlete in CAA history to win both Setter and Player of the Year honors in the same season. Ranks fourth on the all-time assists list (3,522).

Kionna Jeter '21 (Basketball) – Kionna was the fastest player in program history to reach 1,000 points (56 games) and finished her three-year career with 1,582 career points, which ranks third all-time. She earned three consecutive First Team All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) honors and was a two-time All-CAA All-Defense selection. During her time at Towson, she was a semifinalist for Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year, a Honda Inspiration Award finalist and a John Randolph Inspiration Award recipient. In 2021, she was the first Tiger to be selected in the WNBA Draft.

Sonia LaMonica (Coach) – Sonia has compiled a 128-84 (.604) record in 12 seasons as the Towson University women's lacrosse head coach. She has led the Tigers to four Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championships and seven NCAA Tournament appearances. Sonia has been named CAA Coach of the Year five times, including four consecutive seasons from 2011-2014, and coached five student-athletes who earned All-America status.
