TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's soccer team dominated Saint Francis at home on Sunday night 3-0 to win its third consecutive game.
Towson's (4-1-1) took the lead on
Jasmine Hamid's ninth minute goal and never looked back on Saint Francis (0-6), dominating on both sides of the field. Hamid added her second in the 58
th minute as
Phoebe Canoles added insurance in the 79
th minute to seal the game.
At 4-1-1, Towson has its best start since 2007, when the Tigers began the year 5-1. The Tigers are undefeated in their last four games, including three shutouts.
Key Stats:
- Towson outshot Saint Francis 17-6 in the game and earned 12 corner kicks to its opponent's zero.
- Jasmine Hamid earned her first two goals of the year, totaling five shots, putting three on goal. Phoebe Canoles notched her fourth goal of the season on five shots. Nia Christopher assisted each Hamid goal while Demi Pierre and Khori Banks also had assists.
- In goal, Riley Melendez earned the shutout, having three saves in 90 minutes.
- For the Red Flash, Ava Parody had two shots, including one on goal. Sarah McConnon had the defeat with three goals allowed and three saves.

Head Coach Katherine Vettori: "Everyone contributed to a strong victory tonight. We were slow to start and didn't take care of the ball well enough, but we addressed that at halftime and came out and played great in the second half."
How It Happened:
- In the fifth minute, a laser towards the crossbar was punched away by Sarah McConnon, leading to a corner kick. Two attempts by Towson were cleared away.
- Demi Pierre arced a pass across the box which was tapped by Nia Christopher to Jasmine Hamid in the top left. Hamid grounded the ball past the diving McConnon inside the middle of the net to make it 1-0 Towson.
- Each side went back and forth in the midfield as the offenses stalled in the later minutes of the first half. Khori Banks had a late threat in the 38th minute up top of the box, but had her shot blocked.
- The Red Flash had one chance near the final minute of the half with a grounder towards the left post by Lauren Persichetty, being saved by Riley Melendez. Towson led 1-0 at the break.
- The pace picked up into the second half as Canoles and Chirstopher each took aim, missing wide in the period's opening minutes.
- Minute 58 saw Christopher spin around a defender and race down the field. She passed off to Hamid for the score inside the right post to push Towson up 2-0.
- Towson kept up the pressure and routinely earned corner kick attempts to keep Saint Francis on defense. Mackenzie Dupre attempted a 20-foot shot from the corner of the box, which was saved in the middle.
- Off a Khori Banks pass, Canoles got into the box in the 79th minute. Some nice footwork and a shot from the right to left turned into a goal to make the score 3-0 Towson.
- The Red Flash got its two shots on goal in the final 11 minutes of the half, each being saved by Melendez. Towson earned the 3-0 victory.
