Last month, Towson announced that beer sales will be added to the concession stands for university sporting events at Unitas Stadium and SECU Arena. The new option for attendees 21-and-over brings Towson's events in line with other professional and Division I collegiate sporting events in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
For football games, beer sales begin from the time the gates open 90 minutes before kickoff until the end of the third quarter. A limit of two (2) alcoholic beverages may be purchased at a time. An individual must be 21 years of age to buy alcoholic beverages and proof of age is required. Everyone, regardless of age, must present a valid identification for each purchase. Alcohol may not be dispensed to any individual who does not present proper identification upon request. Alcohol may not be brought into or taken out of the venue. Fans attempting to smuggle alcohol into Unitas Stadium will be subject to removal from the facility, loss of ticket privileges and/or arrest.
Football gameday will also include a hospitality area behind the east end zone, sponsored by C&R Pub. The tent opens 90 minutes prior to kickoff and available to all fans free of charge and will be accessible from both the North and South stands while offering food and drink specials as well as an up-close view of on-field action.
