TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team completed a ferocious overtime comeback against Longwood 3-2 Sunday afternoon at Elizabeth Burger Jackson Field in Farmville, Va.
Lexi Bove scored one and
Samantha Aljets scored two, including the overtime game-winner.
Megan Popp picked up an assist.
Records:

How it Happened:
- On a penalty corner just over five minutes into the opening period, Ireland McDermott's shot deflected off the Towson defender's stick and in for the score.
- The Lancers got another penalty corner to start the second quarter. Kylie Levine's insert went across the circle to Zoe Tierney, who found Levine at the opposite corner of the goal for the score.
- The Tigers got a breakaway in the fourth quarter where Bove picked up the rebound off her first shot and sent it home to make it 2-1.
- With less than two minutes remaining in regulation, Aljets intercepted a pass in Longwood territory and charged into the circle for the score, sending the game to overtime.
- Just over a minute into the first overtime period, Aljets inserted the penalty corner to Sarah Hatfield at the top of the circle. Hatfield passed to Megan Popp in front of the goalie, who chipped up to Aljets, putting away the game-winner.
Inside the Numbers:
- Aljets recorded the third two-score game of her career, and first since March 21, 2021 against La Salle.
- Bove recorded the first goal of her Towson career for Towson's first of the game.
- The last time the Tigers came back from a two-goal deficit to win was October 31, 2021 against Davidson in a game the Tigers won 4-3.
