TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team fell 5-0 against Monmouth Friday afternoon at the TU Field Hockey Complex in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play.

- Towson – 5-7, 0-4 CAA
- Monmouth – 8-3, 3-0 CAA
How it Happened:
- Towson goalkeeper Tessa Scheenstra opened the first quarter of play with six saves to keep the game deadlock.
- A few minutes into the second period, Jess Tucker of Monmouth received the entry pass just over midfield, found space in the circle and sent it home for the score.
- Scheenstra recorded four more saves in the first half, bringing her total to 10 through two quarters of play.
- The Hawks went up 2-0 early in the third period when Tucker passed through the seam to Lauren Relik at the top of the goalie crease, who snuck it by Scheenstra for the score.
- With less than four minutes remaining in the third, the Monmouth pass trickled into the circle, finding India Shakespeare putting it away for the score.
- Following a yellow card assessed to the Tigers, the Hawks scored off a set play on a penalty corner. Nora Goddard-Despot inserted to India Shakespeare who found Anna Moors at the top of the circle for the score.
- Less than two minutes later, Tucker entered the circle on the left side and found the back of the net for a 5-0 score.
