BALTIMORE, Md.- The Towson University Tigers tennis team wrapped up the Greyhounds Women's Tennis Classic on Sunday. The Black & Gold will travel to Lynchburg, Virginia this upcoming week to compete in the ITA Atlantic Regional in their final fall tournament.
Grey Draw
Erin Gray/Lea Kosanovic took on Howard's Sophia Lindholm/Hanna Dessie in the consolation bracket finals. The duo fell to Lindholm/Dessire in the doubles match 6-3. Gray faced Dessire and dropped the match 6-4, 6-4, while Kosanovic retired to injury.
Chandré Boshoff/Olivia Rothfeld went against Howard's Imani Jean/Lauren Oliver in the finals with the Howard duo taking the doubles match 6-3. Rothfeld took on Jean in singles play with Jean taking the first set 7-6 (7), then Rothfeld won the following set 7-6 (3), but dropped the tiebreaker 10-3. Boshoff dropped the first set 6-3 to Oliver, but battled back with a 7-6 (4) second set victory. Oliver won the tiebreaker 10-7.
Green Draw
Ashira Murray/Mya Spencer faced Marshall's Emily Schut/Gabrielle Clairotte in the finals and fell 6-1 in doubles action. Murray defeated Clairotte in straight sets 6-4, 6-1, but Spencer retired due to injury.
