BROOKLINE, Mass. – Towson women's soccer saw their nine-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 1-0 loss at Northeastern on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers fell behind early and had good chances late but could not find the equalizer.
Towson (11-2-2, 7-1-2 CAA) controlled play for most of the second half, but the Northeastern (8-3-4, 6-1-3 CAA) defense held off the Tiger attack late.

How It Happened:
- Northeastern got on the front foot early with a dangerous free kick just outside the box. Riley Melendez was up to the task to keep it scoreless early.
- Jasmine Hamid had the first good look for the Tigers in the eighth minute. Her shot from just inside the box was stopped.
- The Huskies would strike first on a through ball in the 16th minute to take an early 1-0 lead.
- The Tigers had good look off a corner kick with Hamid finding a rebound on her foot in the box but it went wide.
- Riley Melendez made a big save late in the half to keep it a 1-0 deficit at the break.
- Towson started to find their footing midway through the second half. Alexandra Rush had a clean look in the box in the 61st minute but her shot was saved.
- The Tigers controlled play for most of the second half. Rush nearly tied the game again in the 87th minute with the ball bouncing in the box with her curling shot sailing high.
- Towson had one last chance in the final 30 seconds on a corner kick but a header from Hamid was saved as the Tigers fell 1-0 on Sunday.

- Jacey Miller became the all-time leader in career games played with 79 over her four plus years with Towson.
- Riley Melendez made a season-best six saves in the loss, topping her previous best of five against Drexel.
- This was the first conference loss for the Tigers since a 1-0 loss against Monmouth back on September 22 of last year.
