TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming teams are set for a pair of road dual meets this weekend against Old Dominion and William & Mary. The Tigers face the Monarchs Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Scrap Chandler Pool in Norfolk, Va. On Saturday, Towson visits the Bee McLeod Recreation Center in Williamsburg, Va. to face the Tribe at 11:00 a.m. in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) competition.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Old Dominion enters Friday's meet with one dual meet completed against UNCW. The Monarch men's (176-85.5) and women's (167-95) teams both fell to the Seahawks last Friday. Old Dominion's men's squad is competing in the inaugural swimming and diving season in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Monarch women's team competes in the Sun Belt Conference.
William & Mary's women's team is coming off a second place at the CAA Championship meet last season. The Tribe were the reigning champions at the 2022-23 meet. William & Mary's men's team finished fifth at the conference meet last season. The Tribe's women's squad is coming off a 167-95 win over UNCW last Saturday while the men's team fell 176-85.5.
SEASON OUTLOOK
The Towson women's team is coming off a fifth-place finish at the conference championship meet in 2023. Sophomore
Ally Frame is the reigning champion in the 100 back and took bronze in the 200 back. Diver
Shannon Parrau narrowly missed the podium in the 1-meter dive with a score of 266.45 at her first conference championship meet. Four newcomers join 24 returners on the 2023-24 roster.
The Tigers' men's squad enters the season following a third-place finish at the CAA Championships last February. Seven newcomers join the team to accompany 16 returners from last season. The two swimmers accounting for Towson's four gold medal finishes at the 2023 conference championship meet have returned for the Black & Gold.
Brian Benzing took gold in the 100 fly, 100 breast and 200 IM while breaking the all-time conference record in the 100 breast and 200 IM. He is a three-time defending CAA Swimmer of the Year, two-time CAA Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet and two-time Honorable Mention All-America.
Michael Fazio is the two-time defending 50 free champion in the CAA and won the 100 free in 2021.
CAA HONOR ROLL
Brian Benzing CAA Men's Co-Swimmer of the Week | 10/10/23
Benzing won a share of CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week honors in the opening week of the season. The senior posted a time of 53.32 in the 100 breast vs. George Mason, which checked in as the 5
th-fastest in the nation at the time. He won the 200 breast in a league-best time of 2:00.36 and captured the 200 free with a time of 1:39.41, which was also tops in the CAA in the opening weekend.
