LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Towson University Tigers tennis team took part in the first day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional on Thursday. The Tigers will continue with doubles and singles main draw action tomorrow.

Singles Draw  
Ashira Murray took on VCU's Anja Draskovic in the first round. Murray battled against Draskovic dropping the first set 6-4 and the second set 6-0. Murray played Penn State's Karly Frieland in the consolation bracket and fell 6-3, 6-3.

Olivia Rothfeld went against Penn State's Jordina Cegarra Ramierz and fell 6-0, 6-0. Rothfeld then faced George Washington's Gabriela Giraldo and dropped the match 6-0, 6-3.

Chandrè Boshoff faced off against Virginia Tech's Laima Frosch. Boshoff was edged by Frosch 6-3, 6-2. Boshoff took on Howard's Ava Chambers and fell 6-1, 7-5.
