BALTIMORE, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming & diving teams each stand in second place after day two of the Thomas Murphy Invitational at Mangione Pool.
Loyola leads the pack on the women's side with 2084.5 points. The Tigers have 1552 in second place. UMBC (1326.5) and Johns Hopkins (1033) round out the group.
On the men's side, the Greyhounds lead with 2521.5 points. The Tigers stand with 1442.5 points while Johns Hopkins (1158) and UMBC (1123) round out the pack.
Finals Day Two Highlights:
- Ally Frame, Tiffany Matulis, Samantha Casolo and Addie Scott took the top spot in the 400-medley relay at 3:46.27.
- Sean Colson, Brian Benzing, Benjamin Eischeid and Luke Schwar took third in the 400-medley relay (3:17.16).
- Casolo placed second in the 100 fly with a time of 56.33.
- Eischeid took fifth in the 100 fly with a time of 48.97.
- Britney Denny (4:28.50), Dylan Gustaff (4:31.74) and Maddie Frick (4:31.98) went 3-5-6 in the 400 IM.
- David Walton took fifth in the 400 IM (4:05.02).
- Addie Scott won the 200 free with a time of 1:50.72.
- Matulis won the 100 breast, clocking in at 1:03.72.
- Benzing took the top spot in the 100 breast with a time of 52.71, setting a meet record in the event.
- Frame (55.16) and Janine Murphy (55.68) went 1-2 in the 100 back.
- Colson (50.75) and Evan Bota (50.84) went 4-5 in the 100 back.
- Michael Fazio, Eischeid, Schwar and Daniel McLaughlin took second in the 200 free relay (1:22.20).
- Shannon Parrau won the 3-meter dive, setting a meet record with a score of 288.95.
- Aidan Clark took third on the 1-meter board with a score of 233.85.

Day three's action starts tomorrow with preliminary heats at 10:00 a.m. and the finals slated for 6:00 p.m.
