BOSTON, Mass. – The Towson University volleyball team took on the Northeastern Huskies on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers (23-5, 16-2 CAA) swept the Huskies (11-13, 9-9 CAA) 25-20, 25-16, 25-23 to win the CAA Regular Season title today.
Victoria Barrett led all players with 16 kills and eight digs.
Nina Cajic and
Irbe Lazda each had 13 kills with Lazda finishing with a .400 hitting percentage.

- The Tigers finished with seven service aces versus three for the Huskies.
- Towson totaled 57 kills compared to only 27 for Northeastern.

How It Happened vs Northeastern:
- The Huskies opened the first set with a 5-2 run, but the Tigers went on a 7-2 run that included back-to-back aces from Sydney Stewart to have a 9-7 edge.
- Northeastern tied the score at 12 apiece, then Towson scored six straight points led by Nina Cajic's three kills to have an 18-12 lead.
- The teams traded points, before the Huskies cut the deficit to four after a 4-1 run.
- Both teams traded small runs with an Aayinde Smith kill sealing the first set 25-20.
- Towson started the second set by taking a 6-4 lead that included four consecutive points led by Irbe Lazda's three kills.
- The Huskies responded with a 4-0 run to take an 8-6 edge.
- The Tigers countered with an 8-1 run getting two kills apiece from Sarah Jordan and Victoria Barrett to take a14-9 lead.
- The teams traded kills, before Towson went on a 7-1 run to take a commanding 22-12 lead.
- Northeastern tried to spark a late comeback with a 4-1 run, but back-to-back kills from Cajic gave Towson a 25-16 second set victory

- The Huskies cut the lead down to three, but a 4-1 run by the Tigers restored a six-point advantage.
