TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University volleyball team hosted the Elon Phoenix at TU Arena on Saturday night in the Tigers' final home series of the regular season. The Tigers (20-5, 13-2 CAA) swept the Phoenix (5-19, 2-13 CAA) 25-13, 25-19, 25-18.
 
Nina Cajic led all players with 14 kills on .462 hitting percentage while adding seven digs and four total blocks. Erin Brothers had seven kills on .385 hitting percentage and led the Tigers with six total blocks.
 
Key Stats vs Elon:

• The Tigers finished with a .337 hitting percentage.
• Towson has 11 blocks compared to only two for Elon.
• The Tigers totaled 46 kills versus Elon's 26 kills.
• Towson held the Phoenix to a .083 hitting percentage.

 
How It Happened vs Elon:

• Towson opened the first set with an 8-3 run led by Victoria Barrett's two kills and block.
• The Phoenix cut the lead down to three, but a 4-1 run led by Nina Cajic's two kills gave the Tigers a 12-6 advantage.
• The teams traded points, before Towson scored seven straight points to take a 22-9 lead, highlighted by a Rachel Hess service ace.
• Elon went on a 4-1 run, but back-to-back points sealed the first set 25-13 in favor of the Tigers.
• The Phoenix jumped out to a 4-2 lead to start the second set, then Towson responded with a 3-1 run to level the score at five.
• Elon scored five consecutive points to have a 10-5 edge.
• The Tigers countered with a 5-1 run led by Erin Brothers's two kills to trail by one.
• The Phoenix grew its lead to 15-11 after a 4-1 run.
• Towson went on a 5-0 run to take a 16-15 advantage.
• The teams exchanged points, before the Tigers closed out the second set with a 7-1 run to take the set 25-19.
• The Tigers started the third set with a 5-2 run sparked by Barrett's three kills and Aayinde Smith's two kills.
• The Phoenix cut the lead to one after consecutive points, but Towson responded with a 7-1 run to have a 12-5 edge.
• Elon scored six of the following eight points to cut the deficit to three.
• The Tigers scored the following three points led by Irbe Lazda's two kills to extend the lead to 17-11.
• Towson maintained a consistent advantage all the way to the end as the teams battled back and forth with Tigers winning the third set 25-18 to improve to 13-2 in CAA play.

• Towson improves to 9-2 at TU Arena, winning its last three matches.
• Rachel Hess is currently tied for 12th all-time in program history with 1060 digs.
• Sarah Jordan had 37 assists tonight to extend her streak to four consecutive matches of 30 or more assists.  
• Sydney Stewart totaled double-digit digs for the seventh consecutive match finishing with 12 tonight.
