TOWSON, Md. – Towson men's basketball will take their six-game win streak into New York for a pivotal CAA matchup against Hofstra on Thursday, Feb. 2. The Tigers and Pride are tied for second place in the CAA standings, just one game back of Charleston.

Towson is coming off a convincing 92-73 win against William & Mary on Saturday afternoon. Cam Holden led the charge with just the second triple double in program history and the first against a Division I opponent. Holden had 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists to go with three blocks. Charles Thompson added 20 points for the second consecutive game, going 9-10 from the floor.

The Pride lead the all-time series, 49-27. The Tigers won the previous matchup this season, 68-47 at SECU Arena back in mid-January. Nicolas Timberlake led the way with 17 points with Nygal Russell pulling down 12 rebounds.

THE LEADER OF THE PACK:
Head coach Pat Skerry is back on the sidelines for the Tigers in 2022-23 for his 12th season as the bench boss of the Tigers. Skerry led the Tigers to their first CAA Regular Season title in 2022, posting a 25-9, 15-3 CAA record. For his career, Skerry owns a 188-180 record at Towson and a 212-205 record for his career.

The Massachusetts native has rebuilt the Tiger program, who has the highest Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the CAA. Over the last ten seasons, Towson has won 18+ games seven times.

Skerry has used his platform as a head coach to start Autism Awareness in college basketball.  What started as two guys with an idea has turned into a national event where hundreds of coaches wear the prominent blue puzzle piece pin. The effort put forth by Skerry was recognized as he was honored with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Guardians of the Game Service Award.

TIMBERLAKE 1K AND BEYOND:
Graduate guard Nicolas Timberlake became the 29th player in Towson history to reach 1,000 career points. Timberlake hit his 1,000th point on November 17 in the second half against UNCG. Timberlake is currently sitting at 1,303 points in 15th place all-time. Timberlake started the season outside of the top 30 all-time but has climbed the charts behind 365 points to this point of the season.
