GREENVILLE, S.C. – Towson softball picked up their first two wins of the season with a 3-1 win against Bellarmine and a 4-2 win against Furman on Saturday.
Madyson Peters drove in a pair of runs over the two games.
Towson (2-1) used a two-run third inning against Bellarmine (1-7) and a three-run fifth against Furman (2-4) to break open both games.
Erin Brown and
Maddie Gardner each picked up their first wins as Tigers on Saturday.

- Towson got things going early with a run in the first. Briana Ramirez led off with a walk and advanced on a walk by Cori Jones. Emma Armstrong would drive home Ramirez with an RBI ground out to give Towson a 1-0 lead.
- Bellarmine would threaten in the second inning, but Kellie Zoerb would throw out the runner at home to keep Towson in front.
- Towson would add to their lead in the third, getting an RBI triple from Mackenzie Lake and an RBI ground out from Madyson Peters to make it 3-0.
- Bellarmine would capitalize on a Towson error to cut into the lead 3-1.
- Tiger starter Maddie Gardner kept the Bellarmine bats silent the rest of the way in a 3-1 win.

- Towson would threaten in the second inning. Emma Armstrong led off the inning with a single and got to third on an Alyssa Myint single but a ground out would end the inning.
- Armstrong would once again get to third in the fourth inning after a lead off single but once again a ground out ended the threat.
- The Tigers would finally break through in the fifth. With the bases loaded after a pair of walks and a single, Madyson Peters came up and cleared the bases scoring Ramirez, Jones and Lake to give Towson a 3-0 lead.
- Alyssa Myint would drive in Peters with a sacrifice fly to make it 4-0 Towson.
- Furman would cut the Tiger lead to 4-2 after six, but Erin Brown shut the door in the seventh to give Towson a 4-2 win.

The Tigers will conclude the Furman Invitational against Sacred Heart and Binghamton on Sunday, Feb. 19. Towson will take on the Pioneers at 9 a.m. and then take on the Bearcats at 11:30 a.m.
