CHARLESTON, S.C. – Towson softball picked up a split against Charleston Southern on Saturday with the Buccaneers winning game one 2-0 and the Tigers taking the nightcap 12-1. Freshman
Addie Ferguson hit two home runs, driving in five runs in the win.
Towson (4-3) mustered just two hits in game one before the offense exploded in game two with 14 hits. Five different Tigers had multiple hits in game two against Charleston Southern (5-5).

- Erin Brown threw a complete game, scattering six hits and giving up just two runs with one strikeout.
How It Happened - Game 1:
- Charleston Southern opened the game with a run in the first two innings.
- Mackenzie Lake would hit a single in the Tigers half of the first inning but would end up stranded on base.
- Both starting pitchers would take control of the game over the middle innings with just hit happening between both teams.
- Towson would get a hit from Briana Ramirez in the sixth, but she would be stranded on base.
- Charleston Southern would hold the Tigers in the seventh take game one 2-0.

How It Happened – Game 2:
- Maddie Gardner would give up a leadoff single but would get out of the first unharmed.
- Charleston Southern would strike first, getting a run in their half of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
- Kristin Toland drew a hard fought 13 pitch walk to lead off the third. She would work her way to second after an Addie Ferguson sacrifice bunt, but Toland would be stranded on base.
- Towson would take the lead in the fifth. After Toland reached on a fielder's choice, Addie Ferguson belted a two-run home run to give Towson a 2-1 lead.
- The Tigers would pull ahead even further getting RBI singles from Mackenzie Lake, Alyssa Myint, Madyson Peters, and Toland to put Towson in front 6-1.
- The runs would not stop there. Ally Hickman would come on as a pinch hitter and rip a two-out, two-RBI single that scored Toland and Kellie Zoerb to give the Tigers an 8-1 advantage.
- Addie Ferguson would throw the knockout punch with her second home run of the game, this time a three-run shot to make it 12-1 Tigers.
- That would be more than enough as Maddie Gardner shut the door in the seventh to lead the Tigers to a 12-1 win.
