TOWSON, Md. – Towson softball picked up a 9-5 win in game one, but fell in game two, 3-0 in the second game of their double header with Saint Francis on Wednesday. The Tigers got a big three-run home run in game one from
Emma Armstrong to jumpstart the offense.
Towson (9-9, 0-3 CAA) used a three-run first and three-run fifth to pull away from the Red Flash in game one. Saint Francis held the Tigers to just four hits in game two, using a three-run fifth to take the lead.

How It Happened – Game One:
- Saint Francis got out to a fast start with three runs in their half of the first.
- Towson would respond in their half of the first. Cori Jones reached on a double and would work her way to third. Mackenzie Lake would get on with a single to put runners on the corners for Emma Armstrong.
- Armstrong would unload on a pitch to right field to tie the game at 3-3 with a three-run home run.
- The Tigers would add to their total in the second with a pair of runs, capitalizing on a Red Flash error to make it 5-3.
- Saint Francis would respond in the third to make it 5-4 and would later tie it in the fifth with an RBI triple.
- The Tigers would retake the lead in the fifth with a three-run error. Cori Jones lifted a ball to left that was misplayed to give Towson an 8-5 lead. The Tigers would add another in the sixth with Sydni Byers RBI ground out.
- SFU would threaten in the seventh, but Erin Brown would shut the door for a 9-5 win in game one.

- Both teams struggled to get anything going through the first two innings.
- Saint Francis would get a single in the third, but starter Cheyenne Beayon would get a double play. After a two-out walk, Madyson Peters would throw out the runner trying to steal to end the third.
- The Tigers would get Cori Jones to third in the fourth after a single and a pair of ground outs, but Jones would be stranded on base.
- The Red Flash would take a 3-0 lead after a pair of Tiger errors in the fifth.
- Towson would threaten in the seventh getting singles from Armstrong and Madyson Peters, but both would be stranded as the Tigers fell 3-0.

Towson will welcome CAA foe Charleston to Tiger Softball Stadium this Saturday and Sunday for a three-game set. The two will play a double header on Saturday, March 18 starting at noon with a single game on Sunday, March 19 at 1 p.m.
