BOX SCORE WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Towson University women's tennis team dropped a 6-0 decision to Stony Brook in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action Thursday night at the Lichtenburg Indoor Facility on the campus of United States Military Academy.
Stony Brook swept all three doubles sets to take the doubles point. The Seawolves then won four of the singles matches in straight sets and another via retirement to clinch the match.
Sania Suchinsky was the lone bright spot for the Tigers. The freshman won the opening set 6-3 and was tied 5-all when the match ended when Stony Brook clinched.
"Unfortunately, we didn't do much well and Stony Brook stepped up big-time," Towson head coach
Jamie Peterson said. "We did not come out aggressive in the doubles and they did. The momentum carried into the singles and we couldn't stop it."
