TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team welcomed Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) foe RV Drexel on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers (5-3, 1-0 CAA) held off a late comeback by the Dragons (5-3, 0-1 CAA) to start conference play 1-0.
Lindsey Marshall had a season-high four goals with eight draw controls while
Lindsay Clarke added two goals and two assists.

- The Tigers dominated the draw 16-6, including a 5-0 advantage in the fourth.

- Milana Zizakovic tied the score at one after she juked out her defender and fired a shot past Jenika Cuocco to get her 20th goal of the season.
- The Tigers took a 2-1 edge 33 seconds later after Lindsey Marshall found Ocea Leavy wide open in the middle, who converted the one-on-one to give Towson its first lead of the game.
- Drexel scored with 1:20 left in the first quarter to tie the game at two apiece.
- The second quarter started with the teams trading possessions, then Marshall scored her first of the day on a free position attempt to take a 3-2 advantage.
- Blair Pearre found the back of the net 36 seconds later to double Towson's lead with 6:24 remaining in the quarter.
- The Dragons scored another free position goal to cut the deficit to one, but Lindsay Clarke scored on the following possession after she ran past her defender and rifled a shot near post.
- Pearre capped off a four-goal second quarter when she fired a shot that found the top corner to give Towson a 6-3 advantage going into halftime.
- Drexel opened the third quarter with its third free position goal to reduce the lead to two.
- Marshall responded with her 12th goal of the year after the defense let her walk through the left side and fire a wide-open shot to restore a three-goal advantage.
- The Tigers extended their lead when Gabby Garrett ran from behind the net and found Marshall wide open in front of the crease to complete her hat trick.
- Clarke and Marshall each scored to finish the third quarter with four answered goals to have a 10-4 edge.
- The Dragons started the fourth quarter with three quick goals to force Towson to take a timeout.
- Halley Koras scored her eighth goal of the season on a nice pass from Clarke to take an 11-7 lead.
- Drexel tried to close the margin, but Jo Torres sealed the win with three late saves to secure the Tigers' first CAA victory of the season.
