Towson Baseball Falls in Series Finale Against UNCW
TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team fell 12-2 against UNCW on Sunday afternoon at Schuerholz Park in the final game of a three-game series.
UNCW (13-7, 5-1 CAA) got on the board first with four runs in the second inning. In the next, pushed two more across on four hits. In the sixth, a double with runners on the corners and a single on the following at-bat made it 9-0. Towson (6-15, 1-5 CAA) got on the board in the eighth on a
Bryce Frederick home run to left field. UNCW got three more in the ninth, making it a 12-2 final.
Key Stats:
- Reyce Curnane finished 3-for-5 with a double in the game. Bryce Frederick finished 1-for-4 with the Tigers' two RBI on a two-run shot to left field in the eighth inning.
- Towson starter Brett Seils (1-2) recorded the loss, surrendering four runs on four hits in the second inning. Bobby Spencer tossed two hitless innings in relief.
- UNCW third baseman Jac Croom finished 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI and four runs scored. Starter Zane Taylor (2-1) received the victory, giving up four hits in seven innings with four strikeouts.

- With two outs in the eighth, Brian Heckelman walked. Frederick hit a two-run home run to left field on the following at-bat to cut into the Tigers' deficit.
- The Seahawks got three more runs in the ninth on two sacrifice flies and a wild pitch.
