ELON, N.C. – Towson softball dropped the series finale, 12-4, against Elon on Sunday afternoon. The Phoenix jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first and never looked back.
Towson (13-14, 4-5 CAA) fought back behind a two-RBI single from
Ally Hickman in the second, but the Tigers could not complete the comeback on Sunday.

- Ally Hickman led the Tigers with two RBIs on one hit.
- Cara Bohner had a pair of hits with one RBI and one run scored.

How It Happened:
- Elon would jump out to a 5-0 lead after a five-run first inning.
- Towson would respond the very next half inning. With the bases loaded, Ally Hickman would scorch a single to right center to score Cara Bohner and Alyssa Myint to cut the deficit to 5-2.
- The Phoenix would extend their lead in the second with three runs to make it 8-2. Elizabeth Yoskowitz would end the inning after a fantastic diving catch in left.
- Elon would push out to an 11-2 lead after the fourth inning. Towson however would get a couple of runs back in the fifth.
- After Mackenzie Lake singled to lead off the inning, she would advance on a Madyson Peters single just pitches later. Lake would score on a Cara Bohner single to cut the deficit to 11-3.
- Just five pitches later, Alyssa Myint would drive in Peters with a sacrifice fly to make it 11-4.
- However, the Phoenix would end the game in the bottom of the inning, defeating the Tigers 12-4 on Sunday.

Towson will return home for a five-game home stand, starting with a pair of games against Morgan State on Wednesday, March 29. The double header with the Bears is slated for 2 p.m. and will air on FloSports.
