TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team fell 4-3 to Coppin State Tuesday afternoon, tacking on two late after a three-run deficit through two at Schuerholz Park.
Coppin State (8-16, 4-5 NEC) opened the scoring in the first with a home run to left field with a runner on, making it 2-0. Towson (7-20, 1-8 CAA) answered with a score on a groundout in the bottom of the first, cutting the deficit to one. The Eagles put up two more in the second on three hits, bringing the score to 4-1. The Tigers challenged late with a run in the sixth on a double steal throw down and one in the seventh on a single to left center. The Tigers were unable to tack on another run in the last two innings, taking the game to a 4-3 final in favor of Coppin State.
Key Stats:
- Reyce Curnane finished 1-for-4 with an RBI on the day. Jordan Peyton went 1-for-4 with a run scored.
- Towson starter Bobby Spencer (1-4) recorded the loss. Brett Seils tossed 3.0 innings while allowing two hits and fanning one in relief.
- Coppin State starter Christian Pareja (1-1) registered the win for the Eagles while allowing two unearned runs on one hit in 5.2 innings pitched. Rashad Ruff got the save, his first of the year.

- The Tigers cut the deficit to two in the sixth, scoring on a double steal throw down that sailed over second base.
- In the seventh, Harper Sy's single to left center with a runner on third made it 4-3.
