TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team charged late in an offensive battle, ultimately falling to Eastern Michigan 11-10 Friday afternoon at Schuerholz Park in Towson, Md.
Eastern Michigan got out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. Towson responded with two in the first, four in the second and one in the third. All but one of those runs were scored by home runs. The Eagles responded with a two-run home run in the fifth and a solo shot in the sixth. The Eagles tacked on five runs in the seventh to take the lead. The Tigers got one across in the seventh and two in the ninth but couldn't get the final run needed to extend the game.

- Towson gave up five runs in the seventh inning, surrendering the lead for the final time of the game.

How it Happened:
- With runners on the corners in the top of the first, Taylor Hopkins singled to right field, sending the first run home. Aaron Dolney followed with an RBI single to right center. A double steal with runners on the corners made it a 3-0 ballgame.
- James Moses led off the bottom of the first with a home run to right field. With a runner on second, Brian Heckelman's single up the middle made it 3-2 Eagles.
- Towson put up four runs in the bottom of the second on Casey Bishop's grand slam to left field, making it a 6-3 game.
- Bryce Frederick hit a solo shot in the bottom of the third to extend the Tigers' lead.
- In the top of the fifth, Hopkins hit a two-run homer to cut that lead to 7-5.
- Logan Hugo's home run in the top of the sixth made it a 7-6 game.
- In the seventh, a fielder's choice groundout tied the game for the Eagles. Later in the inning, a balk and a wild pitch from Tyler Russo gave Eastern Michigan an 9-7 lead. Another double steal with runners on the corners extended the lead. The Eagles tacked another run on a single to left, with the inning ending at the plate on the throw from left.
- With runners on the corners in the bottom of the inning, Frederick singled to left, making it a 11-8 game.
- The Tigers tacked on two more on a fielder's choice and a single to left but were unable to extend the game to extras.
Inside the Numbers:
- With three hits today, Casey Bishop extended his hitting streak to four games. He now leads the team in RBI, slugging percentage (min. five AB) and total bases while maintaining his team lead in batting average (min. five AB) and hits.
- James Moses extended his on-base streak to six games with his 3-for-5 performance.
- Bishop and Moses each had team season-highs with three hits on the day. Bishop's four RBI and three runs were also a season-highs.
- Cam Clark pitched 2.1 scoreless innings in relief with two strikeouts, bringing his ERA down to 7.36.

Towson and Eastern Michigan will play a doubleheader tomorrow, March 4. Game one is slated for 11 a.m. and game two is expected to begin at 2:30 p.m. Sunday's series finale is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
