TOWSON, Md. – Towson softball improved their win streak to six games with a double header sweep of North Carolina A&T on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers dominated game one 9-2 before needing late inning heroics in game two for a 3-2 victory.
Towson (23-17, 12-6 CAA) have now won eight of their last ten conference games and are 9-0 in home conference games this year, sitting in fourth place in the conference standings.

How It Happened – Game One:
- Towson got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning. Kristin Toland came up with two outs and drilled a solo home run to dead center field for her second of the season to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
- Cori Jones would continue her hot hitting week with a two-RBI single that scored Ally Hickman and Elizabeth Yoskowitz to make it 3-0. Mackenzie Lake would add an RBI with a single to push the advantage to 4-0 after two.
- The Tigers would threaten again in the third, but would leave the bases loaded to take a 4-0 lead into the fourth.
- North Carolina A&T would respond with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 4-2.
- Towson would respond in their half of the fourth. Briana Ramirez would score after a throwing error with Cori Jones scoring on an Addie Ferguson sacrifice fly to increase the advantage to 6-2.
- The Tigers would take a 9-2 lead after the sixth and hold off the Aggies for a 9-2 win.
Key Stats – Game Two:
- Sydni Byers would drive in the game-winning run with her two-out pinch-hit triple.
- Addie Ferguson and Elizabeth Yoskowitz would each have two hits to lead the Tigers.
- Maddie Gardner once again dazzled in the circle with a complete game five-hitter. She had seven strikeouts for her 10th win of the season.
How It Happened – Game Two:
- Both starting pitchers were effective over the first couple innings with each side only mustering one hit.
- Towson took the lead in the third. Elizabeth Yoskowitz would lead off with a single and work her way to third. Madyson Peters would come up and drive her home with a single through the right side to make it 1-0 Tigers.
- The Tigers would continue to get runners on base in the middle innings, but could not bring them home, stranding five batters over the middle part of the game.
- North Carolina A&T would tie the game in the sixth after a leadoff triple and bunt single tied it at 1-1.
- The Tigers would come up clutch in the sixth. Cara Bohner reached on a fielding error to leadoff the inning. She would advance on a Ferguson sacrifice bunt and Toland sacrifice fly. Ally Hickman would drive her home with a single to take the lead. Sydni Byers would then step up and drive in Kellie Zoerb who pinch ran for Hickman to make it 3-1 Towson.
- In the seventh, the Aggies would score one to make it 3-2, but Maddie Gardner capped off her stellar start with a fly out to end it.

Towson will kick off a four-game road swing down in D.C. against Georgetown on Wednesday, April 19. First pitch with the Hoyas is slated for 7 p.m.
