Tiger Softball Falls 8-0 at Georgetown on Wednesday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Towson softball saw their six-game win streak come to an end with an 8-0 loss at Georgetown on Wednesday night. The Tigers mustered just one hit over five innings with Mackenzie Lake beating out an infield single in the fourth inning as the Tigers fall to 23-18 on the year.

Key Stats:
  • Mackenzie Lake had the lone hit for the Tigers on Wednesday with her fourth inning infield single.
  • Starter Morgan Wagner threw three innings with one strikeout in the loss with Paige Kostick tossing 1.2 innings of relief allowing one earned run.
How It Happened:
  • Georgetown would waste no time pushing two runs across in the first inning and adding three more in the second to take a 5-0 lead into the third.
  • Towson would get their first hit and base runner of the game in the fourth on a single to short by Mackenzie Lake.
  • However, Lake would be stranded on base as a strikeout ended the inning.
  • The Hoyas would add runs in the fourth and fifth to take an 8-0 decision against the Tigers on Wednesday night.
Next Game:
Towson will travel up I-95 to take on first place Delaware in a key CAA weekend set. The Tigers and Blue Hens will play two games on Saturday, April 22 starting at noon with a single game on Sunday, April 23 at 1 p.m. All games will air on FloSoftball.
