Torres Registers Season-High 13 Saves as Towson Women’s Lacrosse Downed by #22/20 Johns Hopkins in Overtime

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team traveled down to Baltimore to face crosstown rivals #22/20 Johns Hopkins on Tuesday night. The Tigers (10-4, 5-0 CAA) fell 13-12 in overtime to snap their six-game winning streak meanwhile the Blue Jays improve to 7-7.
 
Blair Pearre led the way with four goals while Lindsey Marshall had three goals to extend her streak to four straight games with a hat trick. Milana Zizakovic and Lindsay Clarke each added two points. Jo Torres finished with a season-best 13 saves, including five saves in the fourth quarter.

  • The Blue Jays went 14-of-17 on clear attempts while Towson went 16-of-24.

  • The Tigers scored the game's first goal after Blair Pearre dodged between two defenders to score her 33rd of the year.
  • Johns Hopkins responded with three goals to take a 3-1 lead, but Milana Zizakovic scored her 36th goal off a nice feed from Lindsay Clarke to cut the deficit in half with 6:08 remaining in the first quarter.
  • The Blue Jays responded 43 seconds later with Jordan Carr's 15th of the year to have a 4-2 advantage.
  • The Tigers started a 5-0 run that was sparked when Pearre got her second goal of the game while falling to open the second quarter.
