Towson Women's Lacrosse Drops Regular Season Finale to Delaware

NEWARK, Del. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team faced off against rival Delaware on Saturday. The Tigers (10-6, 5-2 CAA) fell 13-9 against the Blue Hens (8-7, 4-3 CAA) to wrap up conference play.  
 
Blair Pearre finished with three goals and one assist while Lindsey Marshall and Milana Zizakovic added two goals each. Jo Torres finished with 13 saves for the third consecutive game.
 
 
Key Stats vs Delaware:
  • The Blue Hens won the draw control battle 15-11.
  • Towson caused 15 turnovers, the second-highest total this season.
  • The Tigers went perfect on clear attempts going 21-for-21.
  • Lizzie Hsu led Delaware with four goals, including a first quarter hat trick while Mercy McCarthy had 11 saves.
How It Happened vs Delaware:
  • Towson jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after Gabby Garrett found Lindsey Marshall cutting to the middle for her 41st goal of the year.
  • The Blue Hens scored their first goal on a quick counterattack, which sparked a 4-0 run to take a 4-1 lead midway through the first.
  • Blair Pearre cut the deficit to 4-2 late in the first after Marshall found Pearre cutting in front of the crease.

  • Milana Zizakovic started the third quarter with her first goal of the game after she fired a shot off-balance that got past McCarthy, but Delaware countered with two goals to extend its lead to 9-6.
  • Marshall tallied her 50th point on her second goal of the game after she made a nice spin move to juke the goalkeeper and fire a shot into an empty net.
  • The teams traded late goals in the third quarter to maintain a two-goal lead for the Blue Hens.
  • Delaware started the fourth quarter with an early goal to spark a 3-0 run that included a free position goal to give the Blue Hens a 13-8 advantage.
  • Lindsay Clarke scored a late free position goal to reach the final score of 13-9.
