TOWSON, Md. – Towson softball needed to battle multiple rain delays and extra innings on Sunday, ultimately falling 7-6 to Stony Brook in 11 innings. The Tigers rallied from a 5-0 deficit to take the lead, but the Seawolves got a run in the 11
th to defeat the Tigers.
Towson (25-22, 14-10 CAA) closed out their conference season on Sunday in the loss. The Tigers have already clinched a CAA Tournament spot with their seed being determined after next weekends games.

How It Happened:
- Stony Brook would strike first with a solo home run and capitalizing on a Tiger error to take an early 2-0 lead.
- The Tigers would threaten in their half of the third. Briana Ramirez would work her way to third, but the inning would end with a fly out as the Tigers trailed into the fourth.
- The rain continued to come down over Tiger Softball Stadium, resulting in a nearly two-hour rain delay.
- The game resumed in the bottom of the fourth inning. Addie Ferguson worked a two-out walk but would be stranded on base.
- Towson would get on the board off a two-RBI double from Cori Jones that scored Elizabeth Yoskowitz and Briana Ramirez to cut the deficit to 5-2.
- The Tigers would continue to pull closer. Addie Ferguson would drive in two runs to pull within one before Kristin Toland drove in Ferguson to tie it up.
- Ally Hickman would complete the comeback effort with an RBI single to put Towson in front 6-5.
- The Seawolves would tie it in their half of the seventh on an RBI single.
- Towson would fail to win it in their half of the seventh as we headed to extra innings.
- Stony Brook would have a great chance in the ninth, getting the bases loaded. However, Maddie Gardner would record her 10th strikeout of the day to end the threat.
- The Seawolves would break the tie in the 11th on an RBI single and held the Tigers off the scoreboard in their half in a 7-6 loss for the Tigers.
