FAIRFAX, Va. – Towson softball fell 7-1 in a midweek matchup at George Mason on Wednesday. The Patriots pushed ahead early and held the Tigers without a hit into the fifth inning.
Towson (17-16) finally broke through in the fifth with
Ally Hickman driving in a run on an RBI single. However, the Patriots held the Tigers to just five hits in the game.

How It Happened:
- The Patriots got ahead of the Tigers in the first inning with a pair of runs to take a 2-0 lead.
- George Mason would add another run in the third to extend their lead to 3-0.
- After the Patriots put up three more runs in the fourth, Towson found their bats in the fifth. Madyson Peters led off the inning with a single that was followed by a single from Cori Jones.
- Nadia Martyniuk would come in to pinch run for Peters and later score on an RBI single from Ally Hickman to make it 6-1.
- The Patriots would tack on another in the sixth and hold off the Tigers in the seventh to defeat Towson, 7-1 on Wednesday.
