HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Towson softball picked up a double header split against Hofstra on Friday afternoon. The Tigers fell in game one, 9-1 before exploding for 12 runs and 14 hits in a 12-5 win in game two.
Towson (18-17, 8-6 CAA) had four players with multi-hit games in game two, led by
Briana Ramirez with three hits and two runs scored.

How It Happened – Game One:
- Towson would threaten in the second. Cara Bohner would reach with a one-out single and advance on an error. Kristin Toland would draw a walk to load the bases, but a double play ended the inning.
- Hofstra would load the bases in their half of the second, but Maddie Gardner would get a strikeout to end the inning.
- The Pride would strike first in the third with a two-run and solo home run to take a 3-0 lead.
- Mackenzie Lake would get a run back in the fourth with a solo home run to cut the deficit to 3-1.
- Hofstra would respond in their half of the fourth with an RBI single to push the deficit to 4-1.
- The Pride would end the game in the six inning after putting up five runs in the sixth to take game one by a score of 9-1.

- The Tigers got out to a fast start in game two with a pair of runs in the first. Madyson Peters doubled home Cori Jones and Briana Ramirez who each singled earlier in the inning.
- However, the Pride would respond with five runs in their half of the first, capitalizing on a pair of Tiger errors.
- That would be all the Pride would get as Cheyenne Beayon held Hofstra to just three hits the rest of the way.
- Towson would get a run back in the fourth with Jones reaching on an error allowing Ally Hickman to score to make it 5-3.
- The Tigers would explode in the sixth, putting up six runs. Addie Ferguson led off the inning with a single. Hickman drove in Kellie Zoerb, who pinch ran for Ferguson, with a double to make it 5-4. Hickman would later score on a Cori Jones bases loaded walk to tie the game.
- Mackenzie Lake drove in Elizabeth Yoskowitz with a walk with Isabella Canesi, Kristin Toland, and Ferguson each driving in runs in the inning to push Towson ahead 9-5.
- The Tigers would had some insurance runs in the seventh on a Lake sacrifice fly and RBI singles from Madyson Peters and Kristin Toland to make it 12-5. The Tigers would hold the Pride in the bottom of the inning to win by that score and split the double header.
