HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – As Towson softball has done it all week long, they used another late inning rally and strong defense to propel themselves to a 2-1 win against Hofstra to advance to the CAA Championship game.
Madyson Peters drove in the game tying run as the Tigers took the lead after an error in the sixth.
Towson (30-23) achieves their first 30-win season since 2018 when the team won 42 games. The Tigers advance to the championship game for the first time since 2016 and for the first time through the winner's bracket. This will be the seventh championship game appearance for the Tigers.

How It Happened:
- Both starting pitchers were dueling through the first three innings with just three total hits between the two teams.
- Hofstra would get on the board first with a solo home run in the fourth to take a 1-0 lead.
- Towson would continue to battle back. Elizabeth Yoskowitz and Cori Jones each reached on singles in the sixth and would advance on a wild pitch. Madyson Peters would reach on a fielder's choice to score Yoskowitz with Jones scoring after an error on the play to give Towson a 2-1 lead.
- Hofstra would not go away silently. The Pride had a pair of runners on with one out. Elizabeth Yoskowitz had a game saving catch in left to rob the Pride of the walk-off home run.
- Maddie Gardner would get a fly out on the very next pitch to seal a 2-1 win and advance Towson to the championship game.

The Tigers will advance to the championship game tomorrow, May 13 against either No. 1 Delaware, No. 3 Hofstra or No. 7 Stony Brook who comes out of the loser's bracket. The game will air on FloSoftball at noon.
