TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's tennis team opened the fall season at home with the Towson Hidden Dual Tournament on Friday. The Tigers picked up two singles against Johns Hopkins.
"It was great to get back out on the court and compete. I enjoyed seeing the passion and energy out there. Definitely saw some positive things, but stuff we need to continue to work on game improvement", said head coach Jamie Peterson.
Singles
Olivia Rothfeld faced off against Jay Xiao with Rothfeld taking the first set 6-4, but Xiao won the second set 6-1 and the tiebreaker 10-3.
Sania Suchinsky went against Aubrey Zhou and defeated her in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
Ashira Murray made her Towson debut and picked up a straight-set victory over Catharina Ausfahl 6-0, 6-1.
Erin Gray battled against Bea Manjon, but fell 6-4, 6-1.
Doubles
The duo of Mya Spencer and Lea Kosanovic faced off against Sophia Kim and Ashley Chang. Spencer/Kosanovic battle back and forth, but fell 7-5, 7-5 to Kim/Chang.
