Towson Women's Basketball Downed by Stony Brook

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team hosted the Stony Brook Seawolves at TU Arena. The Tigers (8-5, 1-2 CAA) dropped the conference matchup to the Seawolves (13-1, 3-0 CAA) 77-65 on Friday.
 
Kylie Kornegay-Lucas led the way with 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals.

  • The Tigers shot 39.4% from the field while the Seawolves shot 48.2% tonight.
  • Towson finished 6-of-29 (20.7%) from behind the arc while the Seawolves went 9-of-18 (50%).
  • Stony Brook's Gigi Gonzalez finished with a career-high 30 points.

  • The Tigers started the game with a 9-3 run getting five points from Kylie-Kornegay-Lucas.
  • The Seawolves responded with five points from Gigi Gonzalez to cut the deficit to one.
  • Patricia Anumgba and Anasia Staton each got a layup to extend Towson's lead to five midway through the first.
  • The teams went back-and-forth with the Tigers gaining an eight-point lead, before Stony Brook went on a 5-0 run to close out the first quarter trailing Towson 22-19.
