Towson Women’s Soccer Draws Charleston on Thursday Night

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Towson University women's soccer team played the College of Charleston on Thursday night. The Tigers (4-4-7, 2-2-2 CAA) tied the Cougars (8-3-4, 1-2-3 CAA) 1-1.
 
In the first half, the Tigers found the back of the net first on a penalty kick from Sophie Thibeault. The Cougars leveled the score right before halftime. The teams went back and forth, but the match finished as a 1-1 draw.

  • The Tigers and Cougars each finished with 12 shots with Charleston having an 8-7 edge in shots on target.
  • Riley Melendez had seven saves while Savannah Barron finished with six saves.

  • The Cougars fired off two early shots, but Riley Melendez made two saves to keep the score even.
  • Kale'a Perry dribbled through the defense and fired a shot from just outside the box, but her shot saved by Barron. The rebound fell to Malin Bernt Schöps who had her shot cleared off the line.
