BOX SCORE TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's tennis team ended the 2024 fall season with a 5-2 win over Rider Wednesday afternoon at Tiger Tennis Complex.
The Tigers earned the doubles point winning all three sets by a combined score of 18-3, including a 6-0 win by the top duo of
Kiersten Tambe and
Chandre Boshoff. Towson
took a 2-0 lead when
Olivia Rothfeld won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles. After Rider narrowed the deficit to 2-1 with a victory at No. 2 singles,
Aubrey Carper (No. 5) and Boshoff (No. 4) clinched straight set wins to clinch the match.
"We did very well today in our first head-to-head match of the season," head coach
Jamie Peterson said. "The keys were coming out fast and getting the doubles point. We then kept the momentum up in singles play. I am very excited about the potential of the team in the spring."
