TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's basketball team hosted American on Saturday afternoon at TU Arena. The Tigers (2-8) controlled the game from beginning to end, topping the Eagles (0-8), 89-62.
Four Tigers finished in double-digits:
Khady Leye (18),
India Johnston (13),
Anaiah Jenkins (13) and
Aminata Diakite (12). Leye and Diakite both grabbed ten board to each finish with a double-double.

How it Happened
- The Eagles started the game with a 5-2 lead before the Tigers scored 19-straight points to take a 21-5 advantage.
- American closed the quarter on an 7-4 run, giving Towson a 25-12 edge at the first break.
- The Tigers continued to push the pace to open the second quarter, starting the period on a 12-4 run. That extended their edge to 21 at 37-16 with 4:44 remaining in the first half.
- Johnston, Jenkins, Diakite and Leye each had buckets in the closing minutes of the first half to take a 50-27 lead into the locker room.
- Deja Bristol hit the Tigers' first three buckets of the third quarter, with her third taking the score to 56-29.
- Leye had Towson's only other two field goals of the period, both twos. Diakite hit a free throw in the closing seconds as the Tigers took a 61-42 lead into the final quarter.
- Jordan Wakefield and Johnston went on a 9-0 run to start the fourth quarter, giving Towson a 70-42 edge.
- Caydence Hadley hit back-to-back buckets with under five minutes remaining, with the second taking the score to 83-50 with 3:59 left on the clock.
- Semaya Turner hit a layup with 48 seconds remaining to make it an 89-62 game. No baskets were scored in the final seconds for a 27-point lead
Inside the Numbers:
- Leye finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds to secure the second double-double of her collegiate career.
- Diakite recorded her first double-double with the Black & Gold.
- Jenkins posted a career-high 13 points in the victory.
