BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Towson University baseball team fell to Florida Atlantic, 5-1, Saturday afternoon at FAU Baseball Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla.
Towson (1-5) opened the scoring in the top of the first on
Bryce Frederick's solo home run to left field, his fourth of the early season. Florida Atlantic (3-2) plated four in the fifth on three hits, two walks and a hit batter. A groundout to first with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth scored another run to make it 5-1. Towson got three runners on base after that point but couldn't convert any to runs.

- Bryce Frederick hit his fourth homer of the season, putting him atop the conference leaderboard with Campbell's Grant Knipp.
- Brett Seils (0-2) took the loss in his start, allowing three earned runs on three hits with one walk allowed. Seils matched a career-high with seven strikeouts in the start.
- Trey Beard (1-0) recorded the win for Florida Atlantic, allowing one earned run on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
How it Happened:
- Bryce Frederick started the scoring for the second-straight game with a solo home run, this time in the first inning.
- Brett Seils held the Owls scoreless through the first four frames, adding seven strikeouts in the start to match his career high.
- With runners on second and third in the fifth, Leroux's single up the middle scored two, giving the Owls a 2-1 lead. Avery Heiple relieved Seils on the mound but was knocked out of the game after a single and back-to-back walks scored a run for Florida Atlantic. Luis Rivera came in to pitch and walked the first batter for a run. Rivera then forced a double-play groundout to end the frame.
- In the bottom of the sixth, a pair of singles put runners on base before a walk two batters later loaded the bases. Schroeder's groundout to first base plated a run to extend the lead.
- The Tigers left three runners on base in the final three frames as they were unable to extend the game for a 5-1 final score.
