TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming & diving teams are set for the Tiger Winter Open at Burdick Pool on February 9 and 10. Session one is 5:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Sessions two and three are 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Saturday, respectively.
 
Live results will be available on the Meet Mobile app.
 
No team scores will be recorded at the meet. The Tiger Winter Open serves to finalize the CAA Championships rosters for the Tigers. Individual swimmers from other programs may appear at the meet in preparation for their respective conference championship meets.
 
TALKING TIGERS
The Towson women hold two CAA-best times in individual events this season. The Tigers hold top times in the 100 (Frame, 53.40) and 200 back (Frame, 1:56.26).
 
The Towson women's team finished in fifth place at the conference championship meet in 2022-23. Sophomore Ally Frame is the reigning champion in the 100 back and took bronze in the 200 back. Second-year diver Shannon Parrau narrowly missed the podium in the 1-meter dive with a score of 266.45 at her first CAA championship meet. Four newcomers join 24 returners on the 2023-24 roster.
 
The Towson men currently hold six league-best marks in the conference across individual events. The Tigers hold CAA-best times in the 50 (Benzing, 19.90) and 100 free (Benzing 44.05), the 100 (Benzing, 51.48) and 200 breast (Benzing, 1:54.64), the 100 fly (Benzing, 46.21) and the 200 IM (Benzing, 1:43.66). Towson also holds CAA high water marks in the 200 (1:18.90) and 400 free (2:56.49) relays, and the 200 (1:26.46) and 400 medley (3:12.23) relays.
 
Seven newcomers accompany 16 returners from last season following a third-place finish at the CAA Championships last February. The two swimmers accounting for Towson's four gold medal finishes at the 2022-23 conference championship meet have returned for the Black & Gold. Brian Benzing took gold in the 100 fly, 100 breast and 200 IM while breaking the all-time conference record in the 100 breast and 200 IM. He is a three-time defending CAA Swimmer of the Year, two-time CAA Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet and two-time Honorable Mention All-America. Michael Fazio is the two-time defending 50 free champion in the CAA and won the 100 free in 2021.
